Undisputedly the capitalistic maxim “higher, farther, faster” has found entrance in cultural enterprise. Photographs of Olympians from 1936 - bought from an antiquarian next to the artists studio - form the point of origin odor the series “Lorbeeren ohne Gewähr” (a German play on words “Gewähr” - guarantee or warranty sounds the same as “Gewehr” - rifle - when spoken.). The archaic aesthetics are ironically broken, perverted by minimalistic means. The colorful, almost picturesque application of neon-dyed wool reminding of hand colored photography, as well as the collaged slogans and phrases lend the black and white images a poppy aestheticism. Presented as unique handy specimens in gentry and sometimes golden frames, the imagetext collages consolidate to a pretentious artbook of the renown T**CH*N format.
